Since I liked the first one, I obviously read the second one. And I still really like the world and the characters, Renée Ahdieh created but I have to say that the ending was a bit confusing. Not only was it really rushed and sudden, it also left a few unanswered question.Towards the end of the book, I felt like there were some plot holes, due to the jumping between characters. Most of the time, a chapter would only be about the thought process of a character and after one action the chapter would be over. Because of that, everything that happened was told through a side note in an inner monologue or in a conversation. That made the story a bit slow and boring. And then the finale was just wrapped up really quickly and conveniently. There are so many unanswered questions. What happened to the city? The Black Clan? The characters beside Mariko and Okami? And why would you reveal that a character has been in love with another for years and then it is never mentioned again?Even though I was a bit disappointed by the ending, I still enjoyed the book and I really like the detailed worlds that Ahdieh creates.
